Americans are probably the most obsessed people in the world about weight loss. Each year, we spend about thirty billion dollars a year on new fad foods to help lose weight. We are always on the lookout for the next “miracle” treatment or food to come out to help us lose weight. What most people do not realize is that sometimes the simplest foods in your local grocery store are really the super heroes that will work to help you lose weight without the high cost.

Foods To Help Lose Weight
One of these super foods to help lose weight is an egg. Because of the high protein content in an egg, it will help you to feel fuller for a longer period of time. Not only is protein known for keeping you full, it also decreases food cravings.

Beans are another super food that will aid in weight loss. Beans contain a digestive hormone that acts as a natural appetite suppressant.

Many people that have problems with sugar cravings after meals are actually experiencing an increase in insulin that is causing the craving. By sprinkling cinnamon on toast, you can help reduce those spikes in insulin and keep those cravings down. Another super food that keeps those insulin levels down is grapefruit. Eating a half of one before each meal or drinking three glasses of grapefruit juice a day will keep your insulin levels down and also your weight!

A surprising super food are walnuts. Although walnuts are more fattening than most diet foods, they contain healthy fats that keep you feeling full, longer.
A beverage that has just recently been revealed as a way to lose weight is green tea. Green tea is said to increase metabolism and it does not contain calories.
Many different foods could fall under the high fiber category. Beans, as mentioned above, contain lots of fiber and so does whole grain cereal. High-fiber foods take longer to digest and keep you feeling full for longer periods of time.
Fruits and vegetables that contain lots of water and fewer calories are definitely foods to help lose weight. Some examples of these are watermelons, cantaloupes, cucumbers and lettuce.
A great breakfast item that will help you lose weight and does not taste bad is yogurt. Because of the amount of calcium in yogurt, there is not as much fat absorbed in your small intestine.
If you are not too attached to eating meat, substituting mushrooms for meat is a way to cut those calories. This way, before you even start cooking, you have already cut about four hundred calories from your meal.
It is not a myth, spicy foods also help you lose weight. Hot peppers contain capsaicin which suppresses your appetite.
Even if you do not care to eat any of these foods by themselves, just having the ingredients and being able to piece them together to make a fabulous meal is a great start to a “miracle” diet and a fabulous new you! Who knew it was as easy as adding a few spices to your meals or simply eating eggs? The greatest part is that these foods to help lose weight can be found in any grocery store. , ,
